What does your service include?

Walks

Each walk includes all the basic training and rewards to ensure a safe and enjoyable walk.  Dogs will be taught how to "heel" on a leash, "sit" at traffic lights, and socialize with other dogs (at the owner's discretion).  Rewards range from anything from a simple verbal praise, to small treats if provided by the owner.  Everything is done so that the dog looks forward to their walks and is exercised responsibly.

*Booties, sweaters, etc are welcome!

Dog Sitting

Dog sitting is done in your home to ensure your dog remains comfortable and happy in his or her surroundings.  I am insured and police record checked so you can be confident that your pets and home are in good hands.

The basic dog sitting package includes two or three daily visits (with walks), and overnight stays in your home.  One day is defined as a 24 hour period from the time you leave.  Anything surpassing the 24 hours is charged an extra day.

What happens if my pet needs to go to the vet while I'm away?

It is imperative that you speak to your veterinarian about all possible illnesses and their outcomes that could happen during your time away.  Think about payment options, appointing another person to make decisions on your behalf, and how far you are willing to go.  No one ever wants to think about their pets getting injured or sick, but it is best to be prepared.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Because your dog will be staying in your home, it does not need to be vaccinated.  It is however recommended that you always vaccinate your animals to protect them and others from contagious diseases.

On the other hand, licenses are required by the City of Kingston for all dogs and cats living in the city.  For more information, please visit the city's website:

How can I change or cancel my pet's reservation?

All reservations and services are booked on a first come, first served basis.  Therefore when you book a walk, visit, or overnight, I have reserved that space specifically for you and your pet.

We love our clients, but we also love being with our families!  If you must cancel an overnight reservation last minute, you will be charged the full price for the time booked.  Reservations cancelled 48 hours in advance will only be charged half of the total amount quoted, and anything cancelled five days or more in advance will be refunded the full amount, less the 25% non-refundable deposit required at the time of booking.

Would you ever combine appointments?

It is entirely up to you!  Many of the dogs I walk are happy to have the social time and are excited to be joined by other furry friends.  Others have never had the opportunity to walk with other dogs and need a bit of encouragement to do so, while some owners would prefer for their dog to be visited alone.  I always ask the owner in advance to ensure that everyone involved is aware of what we have planned for the day and knows what is involved.

In terms of visits and overnights, I would only ever combine appointments if all owners had consented in advance.  This has happened before during busy seasons like Christmas and summer holidays when many people are looking to get away.  In these cases, the owner who booked first has the ultimate say in what happens.
